Truck DispatcherAre you ready to take on a dynamic role that keeps the wheels of commerce turning? As a Truck Dispatcher, you'll be at the heart of our logistics operations, balancing two vital functions: managing inbound/outbound calls and orchestrating seamless order entry. Inbound call management focuses on answering calls and solving issues with a minimum of call transferring. Outbound call management focuses on improving the characteristics of freight moved. Order entry involves entering load information for agencies and dispatching the truck.Essential Job DutiesAnswer all incoming phone calls promptly and courteouslyCollaborate with agents and drivers to find the ideal freightEnter orders into our operational system for agents and driversProvide timely fuel advances to keep our drivers on the roadHandle request for additional advances per AOP Work InstructionsGuide drivers to the nearest repair facilitiesAssist in providing directions to driversDispatch trip numbers in computer for agents and driversConduct daily check calls with drivers, keeping tabs on ETAs, updates, and resolving any issuesBe the first line of support for agents during emergencies and routine situations alikeFind and assign freight to available drivers, optimizing their routes and maximizing efficiencyManage POs for inspections, repairs and tiresEmbrace a variety of responsibilities that keep our operations running smoothlyRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent1+ years of customer service experience in an office environmentDemonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to work well in collaboration with othersAbility to quickly pivot between different tasks and reprioritize throughout the daySolid organizational and time management skillsExcellent with building and maintaining relationshipsStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications3+ years related experience in the transportation industry1+ years of experience dispatching class A trucksExperience dealing with freight for flatbeds, step decks and dry vansKnowledge of DOT rules and regulationsWhat's in it for me?Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA): Evans provides a monthly employer-funded allowance for employees to purchase the individual health insurance plan of their choice through our ICHRA partner, Take Command.
